Kappa Omega Mentoring Team

Kappa Omega has partnered with Charles L. Gideons Elementary School (Atlanta Public Schools) to serve as mentors for a group of boys and girls who were identified as exhibiting negative behaviors.  Speakers present quarterly workshops to both the boys and girls groups.  Workshop topics include setting goals, decision making and entrepreneurship.

Sisterly Relations

Our objective for 2008 is to strengthen relationships among Kappa Omega Sorors by promoting the bond of unity, love, sisterhood, and greater womanhood, as set by Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. We must continue to live the Pearl of Sisterly Relations with understanding, respect, pride, commitment, love, discretion, cooperation, hard work and "Service to All Mankind". Our activities reflect our mission to do all we can, to enhance our membership, and truly make this noble "sisterhood" our delight.

Kappa Omega Adopt-A-Highway

Kappa Omega’s Adopt-A-Highway program enlists Sorors to help in a volunteer effort to remove litter from our roadway at Campbellton Road and Interstate 285. The Kappa Omega Adopt-A-Highway program brings the environmental and monetary costs of littering into public awareness, and promotes civic responsibility and pride. The Sorors of the Adopt-A-Highway committee serve as visible reminder to the public that Kappa Omega along with the community are stewards of the land.

Kappa Omega is proud of our community, but unfortunately, our roadways are becoming dumping grounds for illegal litter. Roadside litter also poses a serious threat to motorists and wildlife. The Kappa Omega Adopt-A-Highway program helps clean up our highway with a partnership between the Georgia Department of Transportation and Keep Georgia Beautiful.

While working with the Kappa Omega Adopt-A-Highway Committee, please remember to bring your gloves, wear AKA attire and don't forget to wear comfortable, but sturdy shoes. We are looking for volunteers to come out and show the community some love!!

Please contact Soror Fredreca S. King if you are interested in making our community beautiful.
